Tween Period Care Brand Wins $1M From Pharrell’s Black Ambition
RedDrop, a wellness brand focused on period care for tween girls, has won the $1 million grand prize from Pharrell Williams’ Black Ambition program.
This win was announced during the initiative’s fourth annual Demo Day, held to spotlight Black and Hispanic entrepreneurs transforming industries with innovative solutions.
Founded in 2020, Black Ambition provides funding, mentorship, and resources to empower underrepresented founders.
This year’s Demo Day brought together eight finalists to pitch their ideas to a panel of esteemed judges, including Lisa Price (Carol’s Daughter), Pinky Cole (Slutty Vegan), and Matt Story (Visa).
Transforming Wellness for Tweens
RedDrop has carved a niche by creating period products specifically designed for tween girls—a demographic often overlooked in traditional period care.
Led by Dr. Monica Williams (CEO), RedDrop emphasizes proper sizing, education, and empowerment, helping young girls navigate an essential stage of their lives with confidence.
“The $1 million grand prize is life-changing, but the mentorship and network Black Ambition provides are priceless. This is a step towards building a platform that opens doors for others,” Dr. Williams said in a press release.
Expanding Impact with Black Ambition Support
Beyond the financial award, RedDrop gains access to Black Ambition’s extensive resources, including mentorship from industry veterans, investor networking, and exclusive partnership opportunities.
These tools are designed to help the company scale its reach and continue empowering underrepresented communities through wellness solutions.
Since its inception, Black Ambition has distributed over $2.7 million to 30 entrepreneurs across industries like AI, consumer goods, and healthcare.
