Incredible Health Reaches Unicorn Status With $80M Funding Round

Incredible Health, an award-winning job-matching platform for nurses, has closed an $80 million Series B funding round. The latest funding round was led by Base10 Partners, including investors Andreessen Horowitz and Obvious Ventures.

To date, the digital marketplace has hit a staggering $1.65 billion valuation, making its founder, Dr Iman Abuzeid, one of the very few Black female founders spearheading a unicorn company.

Abuzeid founded the nurse-hiring startup in 2017 to act as the bridge between healthcare workers and industry hires, matching “the right nurse with the right role at the right employer.”

“If you’re a healthcare worker or nurse, you shouldn’t have to rely on your connections and who you know, or nepotism or anything like that to get the job,” said Abuzeid in an interview with Forbes

Incredible Health works as a souped-up LinkedIn for nurses, with over 500 hospitals and health systems trusting the platform to help them find the next best candidate. Not only does the platform help nurses find their next permanent role, but it uses machine learning technology to connect nurses to better-paying, permanent positions faster than traditional recruiters.

“I hope that I’m a proof point to everyone who says that it can’t be done and to those who are unfortunately driving some of that bias in the system, at the end of the day, it’s probably not a good idea to overlook female CEOs or Black CEOs. Because they’re driving an enormous amount of value in business. And you overlook it at your own expense.”
