Laid Off? Check Out The Tech Companies Still Hiring on POCIT!

With constant news of layoffs, hiring freezes, and restructures, we know it’s a hard time for many in the tech industry – especially people of color.

When underperforming, companies retreat to what they know and who they know. They default to what is familiar, and, all too often, this means older, white men. We saw this at the peak of the pandemic, and it seems we are seeing it now.

POCIT was launched to platform the stories of people of color in tech but also to create new ones. Our recruitment platform has thousands of job openings, from entry-level roles to ‘dream job’ opportunities, from dozens of tech companies.

Here’s a handful of them.

Eventbrite

Eventbrite needs little introduction. The event management platform makes planning, organizing, and attending events feel like a breeze.

And it seems like the good vibes also extends to life at the company. Eventbrite boasts a focus on career development, flexible working, and well-being. They’re Great Place To Work-Certified™ and one of Inc’s Best Led Companies in 2021.

Brandwatch

Brandwatch is the social intelligence company helping thousands of the world’s most admired brands and agencies thrive in today’s fast-paced digital world. Their AI-enriched social intelligence draws from millions of digital sources, empowering companies to effectively understand and engage with their customers.

They’re big on flexible working, personal development, and a community-focused culture, and they’re hiring! It is also worth noting that the requirements listed in job descriptions are guidelines. So, if you’ve got transferrable skills and you’re in the ballpark with the number of years of experience, apply!

When you first join Brandwatch you’re set up with a buddy, someone who’s a bit of a veteran at the company. You have someone checking in on you and guiding you so you don’t feel neglected. It’s a way for new employees to start building work relationships and get immersed in the company culture and environment.

Carbon Health

Carbon Health is a global team of top healthcare providers and experts working to bring high-quality healthcare to everyone. And they believe tech is a big part of that. Their modern clinics work hand-in-hand with smart tech to make accessing healthcare a streamlined and transparent experience, no matter who or where you are.

They were ranked on Inc. 5000’s list as the 2nd-fastest-growing private company in the US 2021 and featured on LinkedIn’s Top 50 Startups 2020. So, why not check them out?

Asana

Asana is a work management platform that helps teams of all sizes organize, track and manage their work collaboratively and productively.

The company is the brainchild of former Facebook engineering leads Justin Rosenstein and Dustin Moskovitz (also Facebook’s co-founder). Tired of wasting time in meetings, responding to emails, and other distracting “work about work,” the pair created Asana. It does all the busywork so teams can focus on the big ideas.

Asana has been named a Top 10 Best Workplace for five consecutive years, Fortune’s #1 Best Workplace in the Bay Area, and one of Glassdoor’s and Inc.’s Best Places to Work. And the good news is, they’re hiring!

“[Asana's focus on diversity] doesn’t take away from the core work that we’re doing. If anything, it’s a recognition of you being comfortable bringing your entire self to work and feeling as if you don’t have to hide a part of yourself.

Adyen

Adyen’s founders took an ‘unobvious’ approach to starting a fintech company, but it is fair to say it has paid off. They are now the payments platform of choice for leading companies like Facebook, Uber, L’Oreal, and Spotify.

Their modern end-to-end infrastructure connects directly to Visa, Mastercard, and other payment methods, providing a frictionless payment experience for customers worldwide.

To keep up their momentum, they are looking for people from both tech and non-tech backgrounds to join them in solving unique challenges in new and unobvious ways. If that sounds like you, check out their profile!

Cummins

At Cummins, tech is power. Literally. The global power technology leader is known for developing, selling, and servicing engines and related tech. This can range from fuel systems, controls, and air handling to filtration, emission solutions, and electrical power generation systems.

Their HQ is in Columbus, Indiana, but they have roles available across the US. They’ve spent 14 consecutive years on the Ethisphere World’s Most Ethical Companies list and, last year, they ranked 24th on Newsweek’s list of America’s Most Responsible Companies. Check out their job openings!
