Coalition Of Black And Latine Health Tech Leaders Back VP Harris For President

Kamala Harris

A coalition of Black and Latine leaders in health technology has publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States, citing her commitment to health equity and technological innovation, Black Enterprise reports

Public letter endorses Harris

In an open letter, signed by over 20 health tech leaders, the group outlined their vision for a healthcare system that prioritizes health equity and uses technology to improve access for marginalized communities.

They emphasized the importance of increasing representation of Black and Latine professionals in leadership roles within health technology, bridging the digital divide, and addressing algorithmic biases that worsen healthcare disparities.

The group also called for greater investment in diverse entrepreneurs to build a more inclusive health innovation ecosystem.

“The upcoming election is about more than just politics,” the letter states, “it’s about who will lead us toward a future where health equity is a priority, and where technology is used to bridge gaps, not widen them.”

The signatories also advocate for investing in diverse entrepreneurs to create a more inclusive health innovation ecosystem.

Leveraging Tech To Close Health Gaps

According to the letter, Vice President Kamala Harris has been a vocal and active supporter for policies and initiatives aimed at reducing health disparities, particularly in underserved communities.

The coalition of health tech leaders views Harris as a candidate who understands these challenges and is committed to leveraging technology to bridge gaps in healthcare access.

“We need a leader who understands the structural barriers in healthcare and who will use technology to close gaps, not exacerbate them,” said Dr. Jerry Abraham, President of the Los Angeles County Medical Association, according to Black Enterprise.
