According to the U.S. Census Bureau, approximately two million companies are owned by BIPOC owners. Instagram has launched a user survey in partnership with YouGov to understand better how people from different communities experience the app.  The initiative, which highlights the company’s efforts to build a more “fair and equitable” platform, will prompt users to participate in an optional survey about their race and ethnicity. Tech giant, Meta, has seen an unexpected increase in diverse hires since expanding its remote working options.  Facebook, also known as Meta, is one of many companies that have introduced new remote working options for its employees following the pandemic. Banking platform BMO recently announced its partnership with the Black Professionals in Tech Network (BPTN), North America’s largest community of Black tech and business professionals.
