The Marketplace For Black-Owned Businesses Partners With Shopify
Black Business Month has officially arrived.
To kickstart this month, online marketplace, FLOURYSH, has announced its partnership with e-commerce platform, Shopify, to help elevate 1 million Black-owned businesses, providing them with the necessary tools needed to scale and grow.
The FLOURYSH x Shopify partnerships aim to address the lack of access to information, a common setback for aspiring entrepreneurs. According to the press release, Black business owners receive a 120-day free trial on the e-commerce platform.
“The partnership came to be because of our continued commitment to providing resources and network access to our FLOURYSH community,” said Steve Canal, co-founder of FLOURYSH.
“Data alone tells you that Shopify is a leader when it comes to eCommerce. Their recent commitment to the Black community, as well as their commitment to doing more in action than talking, made a partnership with them a priority for us,”
He added: “During our initial meetings, we both understood by working together, we would help elevate Black-owned businesses by alleviating some of the common pain point insights have shown to continue being a problem year-over-year.”
FLOURYSH, founded in 2020 by Steve Canal and Enitan Bereola, is a community-driven marketplace designed to foster the discovery and growth of Black-owned brands. According to the outlet, the platform is populated with prestigious goods from booming Black-owned brands – emerging and established. In addition, the marketplace, which is free for all to join, gives members access to exclusive community perks, including industry experts and private events.
Additionally, brands who join Shopify through FLOURYSH will have four months of educational programming and exclusive access to Shopify’s Build Black Community – a network full of successful Black entrepreneurs who also use Shopify for their business. In addition to community, brands can also build strategic partnerships, access exclusive networking opportunities, and receive potential media exposure.
