Justine Skye Partners With Parfait To Launch New Wig Collection
Justine Skye is expanding her business endeavors, and we are very much here for it.
The musician, known for sporting some of the sleekest tresses in the business, has partnered with Black-owned artificial intelligence wig brand Parfait.
Parfait, founded by Isoken Igbinedio, is an AI and facial recognition-powered beauty technology that has created a community where beauty and tech co-exist. According to its founders, Parfait was founded to solve two problems: AI biases in tech and the fragmented wig buying process for millions of Black and brown women.
“It was something that I was fond of because I’m always getting my hair done,” Justine Skye said in an interview with Girls United.
The collection aims to bring you some of the best wigs in the game. The selection will include a classic 30-inch silky jet black wig, a short but effective jet black bob, and Skye’s signature dark wig with purple hues and dark roots will also be available for purchase.
“If you have been following my journey from before, I would dye my hair purple for a really long time. It really was damaging my hair a lot, and then I went brown. I’m always trying to find new ways to protect my hair, but sometimes you get tired of braids,” Skye explained.
“[So] when Parfait came to me with this idea and asked me to do a collection, I was like, ‘This is sick.’ All of my signature hairstyles I can create for people to have as well, too, for myself and for everyone to have that versatility. It’s awesome.”
Skye’s move into the wig industry could not have come at a better time. According to CNBC, in 2018, the Black hair care industry raked up an estimated $2.51 Billions. Black women disproportionately spend large amounts on beauty maintenance, and as a Black woman, Skye understands the importance of healthy hair and care.
Skye believes her partnership with Parfait will help highlight the importance of taking care of your natural hair and finding the suitable protective styles that work for you.
