Non-profit organisation, National Business League (NBL), is ramping up their efforts to empower Black entrepreneurs by unveiling new plans to digitize 1 million Black-owned businesses by 2028.

The National Business League, founded by Booker. T Washington in 1900, is one of the largest non-profit organizations in the US that directly empowers the Black community.

After over ten decades, the organization is still committed to championing invest and advancement of Black-owned businesses for centuries.

Their motto which is: ‘The revolution won’t be televised; it shall be digitized’ is a symbol of the commitment they have made to further enhance Black-owned businesses in the country.

“As we pivot toward a post-pandemic economy, on the cusp of extreme Black racial injustice, the National Business League has jumped with both feet into the digital age,” said Dr. Ken L. Harris, president and CEO of the nonprofit.

“For Black businesses globally, the revolution won’t be televised; it shall be digitized.”

By the end of the year, the global digital market is expected to hit just over $1,000 billion by 2025, with Black-owned businesses being at the forefront of that movement.

In a campaign expected to roll out next year, the NBL will provide Black founders with $1.3 million in tech resources to help them scale their businesses. This will range from virtual meetings and webinar tools to social media platforms and an LMS system.
