‘Blacks In Technology’ Set To Host One of The Largest Conferences Focused On Black Tech Excellence
BITCON 2021‘s virtual event kicks off this Wednesday and the conference will feature some of the Black community’s tech icons – from cryptocurrency to cybersecurity.
Arlan Hamilton, Judy Smith, Sherell Dorsey, Simon T.Bailey, and Kanika Tolver are among the list of speakers lined up to give away gems to those keen on trailblazing in the industry.
A total of 3% of workers at the top 75 technology companies identified as Black and Black founders received just 3% of all US venture capital in 2020.
BITCON hopes to change these numbers. The platform aims to provide practical tools, resources, innovative workshops, and inspiring discussions to help attendees “stomp the divide,” both individually and collectively.
It will also host hackathons, a startup pitch competition with a $10,000 cash prize, a diversity career fair, and provide over $15,000 in giveaways for hundreds of attendees.
Attendees will range from IT practitioners, technology leaders, startup founders, and anyone interested in pursuing and advancing a career in tech – reported urbangeekz.
The Blacks In Technology Foundation is sponsored by dozens of supporting technology organizations and companies like Google, Disney, Square, and Palo Alto Networks.
