TikTok’s ‘Who TF Did I Marry?’ Gets TV Adaptation With Natasha Rothwell
ABC Signature has secured the rights to develop a TV adaptation of the viral TikTok series Who TF Did I Marry?, with Emmy-nominated actress Natasha Rothwell set to star and produce, according to Variety.
Who TF Did I Marry?
The series was originally created by Tareasa “Reesa Teesa” Johnson, whose 50-part TikTok series documenting her relationship with an ex-husband quickly gained over 450 million views.
Johnson’s candid storytelling earned her more than three million followers within weeks.
In the show, Rothwell will portray Johnson as she chronicles her turbulent marriage to a man she describes as a pathological liar.
Johnson’s revelations, shared in the viral series, include shocking details such as discovering her husband fabricated much of his life, from claiming to play football at San Diego State University to staging a false funeral for his stepdaughter.
A Competitive Bidding War Leads to TV Deal
ABC Signature won the rights to Who TF Did I Marry? after a competitive bidding war, securing the series under Rothwell’s Big Hattie Productions.
Rothwell, known for her roles in The White Lotus and Insecure, will serve as both executive producer and lead actress, bringing her unique creative vision to the adaptation.
As the show moves into production, Rothwell’s Big Hattie Productions recently welcomed Mary Sayama McHenry as Director of Development to help oversee the adaptation.
McHenry brings experience from CBS TV Studios and Get Lifted Film Company.
The adaptation comes as Rothwell continues to make waves in the entertainment industry, with other major projects, including her upcoming Hulu comedy How to Die Alone and her return in The White Lotus season three.
