HBCU Legacy Bowl Fair Connects Black Students With Top Tech Giants

HBCU Legacy

The 2024 Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl Career Fair is set to open doors of tech opportunities for students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Scheduled for February 22nd and 23rd at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, the event is specifically designed to bridge the gap between graduation and careers for HBCU students.

Opening Avenues In Tech And Beyond

The HBCU Legacy Bowl Fair is an initiative presented by the New Orleans Saints.

The exclusive event is limited to juniors, seniors, and recent graduates (classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024) and is by invitation only. Students must submit an application with a current resume to be considered.

The Career Fair promises an opportunity for students to connect with over 100 top employers from various fields, including sports, healthcare, food, entertainment, education, finance, and, particularly, technology.

Participants will have the opportunity to interact with representatives from leading tech corporations, offering a unique platform to showcase their skills and explore potential career paths.

In addition to networking opportunities, the event features live presentations by experts in career counseling, resume writing, and interviewing.

The involvement of prominent companies like Verizon, Google, and Microsoft further highlights the commitment to opening avenues in the tech sector for HBCU students.

Opportunities For HBCUs

The initiative goes beyond job hunting as the New Orleans-based HBCU that meets the 250-student attendance requirement stands to gain a $5,000 scholarship.

There is also the chance for an additional $5,000 and the Legacy Cup awarded to the HBCU with the most student attendees.

This incentivizes greater participation and underscores the importance of such events in empowering students from minority backgrounds.
