Google Is Teaming Up With Stephen Curry To Introduce Personalized AI Fitness Coach

NBA star Stephen Curry will team up with Google in a long-term strategic partnership, shaping the company’s hardware, features, and AI services. Curry will join the company as a “performance advisor” for Google’s Health, Pixel, and Cloud products. In his role, Curry will actively shape the future of Google Health and Fitbit products and features.
Curry becoming Google’s performance advisor
Curry will work with Google’s health and AI engineers to alter products, train algorithms, and craft next-generation health experiences. He will also test and provide feedback for Fitbit’s new personal health coach, chatbot Gemini. This chatbot creates customized workout routines and metric targets for Fitbit app users based on the health goals they’re working towards.
“This hands-on work has already begun, with Stephen and his team of experts working with our health experts and product and AI engineers to test our new products and experiences, giving us incredibly valuable feedback,” says Google’s platforms and devices head, Rick Osterloh said in a blog post.
Curry adopting the Pixel ecosystem
This partnership means that Curry and his team will be contract-bound to fully adopt the Pixel ecosystem – Pixel phones, watches, and earbuds. Curry will also use AI tools like Google Cloud’s AI Basketball Coach into his student training programs, which Google says can help to “perfect your jump shot”.
“The partnership [with Google] will explore how tech can support individual performance, health, and lifestyle, with Curry informing health-related features and experiences that will guide people to take action and help them be their best for a long time,” according to information shared with AFROTECH.
