Glassdoor Now Lets You Filter Jobs By Diversity And Inclusion Ratings

The world’s leading platform for gaining insight into an organization’s culture, Glassdoor, has launched a range of advanced filters to help people customize their job search based on Work/Life Balance, Cultures & Values and Diversity & Inclusion.

The advanced filtering capabilities will allow job seekers to quickly scope out an organization’s culture based on ex-employees or current employees’ experiences.

Why are Glassdoor’s advanced filters so important?

Glassdoor’s advanced features will hugely benefit Black and brown employees looking to venture into a new organization or space. The platform, which encourages honesty and participation, allows prospective candidates to find out whether a job is for them through the testimonials of current and previous employees.

On the website, you will find a range of information from current job listings to reviews of the interview process. Management and HR will also be able to see how employees rate their company and understand the current sentiment of their staff.

For Black and brown people specifically, it allows them to stay clear of particularly racist or discriminatory environments, as well as companies that do not fulfill their promise of diversity and inclusion.

Employee discrimination

According to a new Glassdoor survey conducted by The Harris Poll, 43% of US employees have witnessed or experienced workplace discrimination (e.g., racism, ageism, sexism, and homophobia). While 30% say, their current employer does not match their values.

Additionally, 36% of employees aged 18-44 say diversity and inclusion policies are an impact factor when it comes to searching for a new job or company.

“Glassdoor is deeply committed to leveraging our products and resources to help achieve equity in and out of the workplace,” said Christian Sutherland-Wong, Glassdoor’s Chief Executive Officer. “We know that each job seeker has different values driving their job search, from healthier work/life balance to career growth to being able to compare ratings of different employee demographic groups”

“The new advanced filters for Company Explorer aim to make it easier for people to uncover companies that align with their unique values and experiences and can help them make even more informed decisions about where to work.”

At a time when more than 1 in 3 employees believe it is challenging to find an employer that aligns with their values, Glassdoor’s advanced filters couldn’t have come at a better time.
