Aldi Quietly Removes DEI Language From Its Website

As more companies have decided to scale back their DEI efforts, Aldi could be the next company on the list. Although the company hasn’t publicly announced that it is doing so, it has removed any evidence linked to DEI from its website.
What sections has Aldi removed from its website?
The company website previously featured an “Aldinclusive” section that said “diversity strengthens us,” according to HR Brew. Additionally, it detailed Aldi’s DEI efforts and commitment, such as its 30-year support of the United Negro College Fund, an inclusive resource library for employees to learn about DEI and five inclusion groups, as well as internships for diverse students.
The section also connected to a broader corporate page that outlined how Aldis plans to promote inclusion for all and its $5.5 million DE&I Philanthropic Fund. However, these pages are no longer on the company’s website and automatically rerouted to other Aldi US corporate homepages. DEI initiatives are still on the Aldi UK, Ireland, and Australia careers websites.
Aldi’s DEI efforts are currently only visible on its company’s internal employee website/portal, according to an employee on Reddit. Though the company still seems to have a DEI team, it is uncertain whether its programming is still functioning.
What other companies have removed DEI from their websites?
In December 2024, Amazon shared it was “winding down outdated programs and materials” after analyzing hundreds of initiatives.

A spokesperson for Amazon refused to share the details the company would make, but the company has since removed the “Equity for Black People” and “LGBTQ+ Rights” sections and any mention of “transgender” from its company’s policy.
