While Almost Every Celeb Is Jumping On The NFT Wave – Kanye West Has Said ‘Not Now’

On Monday, the rapper took to Instagram to share with over 10 million followers that he will not be endorsing non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Instead, Kanye will continue to place his focus on his products, the “real world,” “real food,” “real clothes,” and “real shelter.”

“STOP ASKING ME TO DO NFT’s I’M NOT FINNA CO-SIGN … FOR NOW I’M NOT ON THAT WAVE I MAKE MUSIC AND PRODUCTS IN THE REAL WORLD,” he wrote for his Instagram caption.

At the end of Kanye’s note, he adds “ASK ME LATER.” So, perhaps the crypto world may gain a notable endorser in the near future.

His post came as a huge surprise to some of his fans because he was recently captured in a video clip, saying that celebrities should be able to profit from their images captured by paparazzi. He then went on to explain the use of the NFT wave could act ass concrete proof of how photography can be a tool to benefit all parties involved.

“It’s just really one-sided. You guys can follow us, you guys to stand from the hotel at any given time. You don’t give us any percentage of what you make off us, off our kids. And I’m going to change that,” Kanye West said in the video.

“You know, NFT [non-fungible tokens] people get paid in perpetuity on the product that they put out. So my image is a part of something that I should get paid for. We all got to make money together,” Kanye West later said.

Maybe Kanye sees the benefits of NFTs but simply isn’t ready to be a part of the flock just yet.

If there’s one thing we know about Kanye – he’s always paving his own path.
