Who Is Bili Sule – The Black Woman Behind alGROWithm, Africa’s First Growth Talent Accelerator

alGROWithm, a Nigeria-based growth agency is building Africa’s first growth talent accelerator.

While most digital schools and programmes like Decagon, and AltSchool focus on solving the engineering and product talent gaps, growth is largely unattended to but alGROWithm’s GTAP aims to bridge that gap.

The Growth Talent Accelerator Programme (GTAP) is a two-phase training programme in partnership with Digital Africa’s Talent 4 Startups Initiative which will help develop world-class growth engineers on the continent.

Founded by Bili Sule in 2018, the agency uses growth engineering to design and implement sustainable growth models and strategies for African startups and SMEs. alGROWithm’s services span across marketing to growth modelling, digital advertising and even branding.

The agency has served over 50 startups in the ecosystem including Spleet, Chaka, OkHi, and Binance where it led a market entry campaign into Nigeria.

alGROWithm also offers short 6-hour growth courses called Growth Engineering Training (GET) which have been completed by over 300 people. GET, however, only offers its trainees a surface overview of growth engineering tactics.

Who is Bili Sule – the founder?

Sule is a leading female African business expert. She started her career as a software engineer in the UK, punctuated with stints as an entrepreneur. Having also held various leadership positions, most notably as the VP of Growth Marketing at Jumia — Africa’s largest e-Commerce company.

Bili comes with over 15 years of direct experience, technical expertise and the mindset required to accelerate the growth of businesses, particularly those operating in African markets.

She now channels her energy into providing “Growth As A Service to African tech startups as the Chief Growth Engineer at Algrowithm, and in partnership with Microtraction and Founders Factory Africa.

Recommended by Femi Aiki, Foodlocker, he said: Bili has a proven track record of driving growth, as the former vice president of Growth Marketing at Jumia Nigeria and as a senior growth consultant for Founders Factory Africa. She’s able to cut through the jargon/vanity metrics and has found a way to consistently and reliably engineer growth for us.

“What’s unique about Bili’s approach is that her strategy moves beyond just marketing. She is data driven and takes an iterative experimental approach to unlocking growth across various business pillars, from marketing to product and operations.”
