Rapper Gunna Launches $500K Income Program For Atlanta Families
Rapper and Atlanta native Gunna is launching a $500,000 guaranteed income program aimed at helping families in his hometown, as first reported by Billboard.
Set to kick off on September 18, the Gunna x BMAC 30349 Guaranteed Income Program will provide 30 families in the 30349 zip code with $1,000 monthly stipends for a year.
Addressing Economic Challenges Head-On
In a move to tackle economic inequality, Gunna has teamed up with the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) to create a program that offers direct financial support to those who need it most.
The initiative both provides cash and also links families to essential services like financial coaching and mental health resources.
This dual approach aims to create a foundation for long-term stability in South Fulton, an area where many residents face significant financial challenges.
“The partnership between Gunna, BMAC, and the City of South Fulton represents a transformative step in addressing the economic disparities that some of our residents face.” saidSouth Fulton Mayor Khalid Kamau in the announcement.
“The Gunna x BMAC 30349 Guaranteed Income Program is not just an investment in our city’s future, but a powerful example of how we can create meaningful change through collaboration and innovation. I am proud to support this initiative and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the families in our community.”
Gunna’s Ongoing Commitment to His Community
This initiative is the latest in a series of community-focused efforts by Gunna, who has consistently worked to uplift South Fulton.
From creating in-school clothing stores to setting up grocery stores for students, the rapper’s philanthropic efforts are well-known in the area.
“When I started Gunna’s Great Giveaway, I wanted to make a real difference in my community,” Gunna said. “
This guaranteed income program is a big step toward that goal, helping families in my neighborhood achieve financial stability and a better future.”
The program’s launch will be followed by a spotlight at the BMAC Gala in Los Angeles on September 19, as part of the celebrations for Gunna Day, officially recognized on September 16.
For families in the 30349 area, the chance to apply for this program is now available.
