Moniepoint Acquires Restaurant Management Platform
Nigerian fintech startup Moniepoint has acquired Orda Africa, a cloud-based restaurant management platform operating in Nigeria, according to a press release. Orda will join Moniepoint’s digital ecosystem, which includes payments, credit, and bookkeeping, enabling the company to help restaurants track and manage orders.
Orda operates in Nigeria and Kenya, but the acquisition will only cover its operations in Nigeria. “Nigeria’s food service industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the country. Millions of Nigerians depend on it for their livelihoods, and millions more rely on it daily to feed,” Moniepoint said in a press release.
“Orda has spent the last few years building a platform to solve this. From payments and inventory management to microsites and credit, their platform has enabled some of Nigeria’s top food service businesses to manage their operations efficiently.”

TechCabal reported that the financial details of the deal have not been disclosed, but 25 members of Orda’s team will join Moniepoint, according to people close to the deal. Under the new integration, cashiers will record sales on the Moniepoints platform.
The customer then pays via a Moniepoint terminal using a card or bank transfer. The payment will be confirmed automatically, closing the transaction and creating a receipt showing both the sale and payment details.
Restaurant owners will be able to see performance from the Moniebook dashboard as payments and sales records are directly linked.
“Orda has found the perfect home in Moniepoint. We have spent years building deep expertise in restaurant operations, but we have always known that to truly transform the industry, we needed to connect that expertise with comprehensive financial infrastructure,” Orda CEO Guy Futi said, according to Fintech Global.
