Actress Marsai Martin and her Marsai’s Way Foundation are teaming up with the nonprofit Seeds of Fortune Inc. to empower 10,000 young women through financial education and wealth-building initiatives over the next three years, according to a press release.

The partnership will be launched at the Seed Forum: Women of Color Creating Wealth Summit, an event designed to address the racial and gender wealth gap by providing young women with opportunities to meet industry leaders who will empower them to become financial leaders.

“Our partnership with Marsai’s Way Foundation allows us to scale this mission and deliver financial literacy, mentorship, and career access to thousands of young women who deserve to build wealth and opportunity for themselves and their communities,” said Nitiya Walker, Founder & Executive Director of Seeds of Fortune Inc.

This initiative will encompass a range of components, including wealth-building programs, mentorship opportunities, and access to exclusive events, such as Marsai’s Way Foundation Annual BBQ, where young girls will have the chance to network with figures from finance and entertainment.

“This partnership is about more than just finances—it’s about creating freedom,” Martin said. “I want girls who look like me to know they can own their futures, build wealth, and become leaders in every room they walk into.”

Martin’s career and Marsai’s Way Foundation

Martin gained prominence after her leading role on Black-Ish. At 13, she became executive producer of Little, making her the youngest person ever to produce a movie, as well as the youngest African-American producer.

She founded a production company called Genius Productions, which signed a first-look production deal with Universal in 2019. Marsai’s Way Foundation launched in 2018 to empower underserved youth through education, mentorship, scholarships, and leadership opportunities.
