Jermaine Dupri

Grammy-award-winning producer Jermaine Dupri and his label So So Def Recordings have announced a new multi-year partnership with Create Music Group.

Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Recordings

So So Def Recordings was founded by Dupri in 1993, and since then, he has worked with many successful artists at the start of their careers.

He produced Usher’s diamond-certified album “Confessions” and Mariah Carey’s platinum album “Emancipation of Mimi.”

As part of the new deal, So So Def Recordings will bring all of its recordings, publishing, and back catalog to Create Music Group.

Create Music Group is a data-driven digital music company that provides distribution, rights management, and creative services to labels and artists, including Porter Robinson and Young Thug.

New music and artists

The new collaboration will also launch new music and new artists under the direction of Jermaine Dupri, which will be announced soon.

In addition, Dupri will also serve as the new Creative Director for Create Music Group.

Dupri will transition from CEO of So So Def Recordings to Chairman and Founder, and Bryan Patrick Franklin will take over as CEO.

“Jermaine has been one of the most successful and impactful forces in music for the last three decades,” said Jonathan Strauss, Founder and CEO of Create Music Group.

“We are honored that he and his team have decided to partner with us for both his catalog and future output.”
