Megan Thee Stallion Grows Her Business Portfolio With Opening Of Popeyes Franchise

Three-time Grammy Award–winning artist Megan Thee Stallion has opened her first Popeyes restaurant as a franchise owner, turning a high-profile brand partnership into a direct stake in a revenue-generating business.

The restaurant opened this week on Washington Avenue in South Beach, Miami, a high-traffic corridor popular with both locals and tourists. It features Megan-themed design elements and menus.

From Campaign Partner to Franchise Owner

Megan’s Popeyes location builds on a relationship that began in 2021, when she and the fast-food chain announced an expanded partnership that went beyond a typical celebrity deal. That collaboration included product launches, fashion drops, philanthropy, and approval for Megan to become a franchise owner.

At the time, the partnership focused on limited-time menu items and marketing. With the opening of a physical restaurant, it now enters operational territory: dependent on staffing, supply chains, customer traffic, and store-level performance. Unlike licensing or sponsorship deals, franchise ownership ties returns directly to execution and the franchisor’s economics.

Turning Influence Into Ownership

The Popeyes franchise fits a broader pattern in Megan Thee Stallion’s career: a consistent focus on ownership across creative and commercial ventures. Born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, the rapper owns her masters and publishing, releasing music through Hot Girl Productions, her independent label, while maintaining distribution and resources through Warner Music Group.

She’s also the founder of Chicas Divertidas, a premium tequila brand launched in February 2025; Hot Girl Summer, a swimwear and lifestyle line; and the Pete and Thomas Foundation, which focuses on mental health, education, and community support.

Speaking to WPLG Local 10, Megan described the Popeyes franchise as a personal investment: It’s always important to invest in yourself, be true to yourself, and only do endeavors that feel real to you, so you can really like be invested more than money-wise. Like invested in your heart.”
